The Community Experience Manager serves as the welcoming face, trusted connector, and operational heartbeat of Red Wing Ignite.

This vital role helps create an environment where entrepreneurs, members, tenants, partners, and visitors feel welcomed, supported, connected, and inspired.

This role combines hospitality, relationship-building, facility operations, event coordination, community engagement, and communications support. As the first point of contact for visitors and members, the Community Experience Manager plays a critical role in helping Ignite fulfill its mission while maximizing the value of the Ignite facility as a shared community asset.

The Community Experience Manager works collaboratively with the Ignite team to create exceptional experiences, activate the facility, support programs and events, strengthen community engagement, and connect entrepreneurs with the resources they need to succeed.

Success in this role will be measured not only by operational excellence, but by the quality of relationships built, the experiences created, the utilization of the facility, and the sense of community fostered within the Ignite ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

Community Experience & Hospitality

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for visitors, entrepreneurs, members, tenants, sponsors, and community partners
  • Welcome guests and create a warm, professional, and engaging environment throughout the facility
  • Foster meaningful connections between entrepreneurs, mentors, service providers, investors, educators, and community resources
  • Ensure every visitor has a positive and memorable experience
  • Serve as a trusted resource for members, tenants, and community partners

Facility Operations & Event Support

  • Coordinate scheduling, reservations, utilization, and customer experience across the Community Room, Board Room, Fireside Conference Room, coworking space, private offices, future podcast/content creation spaces, and other shared-use spaces within the facility
  • Serve as the primary facility steward responsible for ensuring meeting and event spaces are accessible, welcoming, organized, and operating efficiently
  • Coordinate room setup, readiness, and post-event restoration
  • Conduct regular facility walkthroughs to ensure spaces are welcoming, functional, and properly equipped
  • Assist with setup and operation of meeting room technology, presentation equipment, Zoom rooms, displays, and audiovisual systems
  • Coordinate with technology vendors, service providers, and Ignite staff when additional support is needed
  • Support workshops, accelerator programs, networking events, speaker series, board meetings, and community gatherings
  • Assist presenters, facilitators, mentors, and attendees before, during, and after events
  • Help ensure every Ignite event reflects a high-quality and professional experience

Shared Facility Coordination & Partnership Management

  • Serve as the primary coordinator for shared meeting and event spaces within the Ignite facility
  • Manage scheduling, utilization, and customer experience across all Ignite-managed meeting, event, coworking, and shared-use spaces
  • Coordinate room reservations, usage policies, technology needs, setup requirements, and hospitality support
  • Maintain strong working relationships with City staff and facility partners regarding shared operations and facility use
  • Provide visibility and access to scheduling systems for designated City personnel and approved facility users
  • Identify opportunities to improve space utilization, customer experience, operational efficiency, and earned revenue opportunities
  • Support collaborative facility planning and continuous improvement efforts between Ignite and City stakeholders

Membership & Community Engagement

  • Support onboarding of coworking members and office tenants
  • Maintain membership communications and engagement activities
  • Monitor utilization trends and identify opportunities to enhance the member experience
  • Create opportunities for collaboration, networking, and relationship-building among members
  • Serve as an ambassador for Ignite throughout the community
  • Assist with connecting entrepreneurs, businesses, nonprofit organizations, educators, mentors, and partners with appropriate resources and opportunities
  • Identify prospective members, tenants, sponsors, partners, and program participants and share opportunities with the Ignite team
  • Support initiatives that strengthen entrepreneurship, innovation, workforce development, and economic vitality throughout the region

Marketing, Communications & Support

  • Assist in capturing photos, stories, testimonials, and community highlights from events and daily facility activity
  • Support social media, newsletters, storytelling, and promotional efforts in partnership with the Ignite team
  • Help identify entrepreneur success stories, member milestones, and community impact opportunities
  • Create and maintain integrated facility calendars, reservation systems, utilization records, and scheduling processes supporting Ignite, facility users, and shared-use spaces
  • Track facility activity, membership data, and community engagement metrics
  • Support reporting needs associated with programs, grants, and facility utilization
  • Serve as the primary liaison for day-to-day coordination and communication regarding shared facility operations, space utilization, and community engagement activities with City partners and facility stakeholders
  • Create and maintain accurate records related to memberships, room rentals, events, and facility usage

Compensation, Schedule & Work Environment

This is a full-time, hourly position based onsite at the Red Wing Ignite facility in Red Wing, Minnesota, reporting to the Executive Director.

The anticipated compensation range for this role is $58,000–$68,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience.

Red Wing Ignite offers a collaborative, flexible, and mission-driven work environment where team members have the opportunity to make a meaningful, tangible impact on entrepreneurship, innovation, and economic vitality throughout the region.

The typical schedule is designed around a four-day workweek (Monday through Thursday, approximately 8:00am–4:00pm), with Fridays generally reserved as flex time.

While most work occurs during regular business hours, this role includes periodic evening and occasional weekend support for events, programs, facility rentals, and community gatherings. Schedule flexibility is expected, and Ignite encourages team members to balance these commitments with appropriate adjustments throughout the week.

This position requires a highly visible onsite presence and serves as a primary steward of the Ignite facility, shared meeting spaces, and community experience. Success is achieved through proactive relationship management, exceptional hospitality, operational excellence, and strong collaboration with Ignite staff, community partners, facility users, and City stakeholders.


Qualifications

Required

  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in hospitality, customer service, community engagement, office management, event coordination, facility operations, nonprofit administration, or related fields
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, scheduling platforms, and basic technology tools
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a small team environment

Preferred

  • Experience within entrepreneurship, coworking, nonprofit, hospitality, chamber, community development, education, or business-support organizations
  • Experience planning and coordinating events
  • Familiarity with CRM, membership, event registration, or facility reservation systems
  • Passion for entrepreneurship, community building, and supporting the success of others
